Business Description

About Pelter Winery

Pelter Winery was founded in 2001 by brothers Tal and Nir Pelter, who set out to bring a fresh perspective to Israeli wine. Tal had studied viticulture and oenology in Australia and was drawn to the Australian approach, and the winery was built around a simple idea taken from it: exceptional quality at accessible prices. That philosophy still drives Pelter today.

The Wines

Pelter draws fruit from carefully chosen vineyards across Israel’s wine regions. The Australian influence shows in a focus on technical precision and clear, fruit-forward character, applied consistently across the range, with the team refining vineyard and cellar work vintage by vintage. The wines run from fresh and approachable to complex and ageworthy, and the commitment to good wine at fair prices has won a wide and loyal following, making Pelter one of the most recognised boutique labels in Israel.

Visiting the Winery

A tasting at Pelter reveals the vision the brothers brought back from Australia, across a range that reflects real ambition at every level. The winery keeps pushing, making wines that challenge expectations, and a visit is a good chance to meet the team and understand the Pelter approach first-hand, one of the more dynamic boutique producers in the country.

An extraordinary evening. The pairing of local Golan produce with Pelter wines was inspired. The Semillon is outstanding.
