About Tavor Winery

Tavor Winery was founded in 1999 by four winegrowing families from Kfar Tabor in the Galilee, and what began as a small cooperative is now one of Israel’s leading wineries. It sits in a prime Galilean spot overlooking Mount Tabor, the landmark it takes its name from. Ecology is a guiding principle: in 2012 the winery moved all its vineyards to ecological management, and it works with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel to encourage biodiversity across its sites.

The Wines

Tavor farms vineyards across a remarkable span, from the Golan Heights in the north to Mitzpe Ramon in the south, drawing on very different soils, climates and altitudes. The winemaking combines knowledge handed down through the founding families with modern technique, working only with the best fruit, so the wines reflect both the breadth of Israeli growing conditions and a real commitment to quality and the environment.

Visiting the Winery

The winery looks out over Mount Tabor and the Galilean landscape. Visits cover the ecological farming and offer tastings of wines from vineyards that run the length of the country, all tied to the story of four families who built something lasting together.
