About Terranova Winery

Terranova Winery is located in Moshav Knaf in the Golan Heights, perched on a hilltop at the entrance to the moshav with sweeping views of the Sea of Galilee, Safed, and Mount Hermon. The winery was founded in 2006 by three partners who are also founding members of Moshav Knaf. The name Terranova reflects the spirit of the project: a new beginning on new land, combining agriculture, nature, and the craft of winemaking. Furthermore, the winery is situated along the ancient road connecting two historic synagogues, Dir Aziz to the east and Mizarat Knaf to the west.

The founders brought years of experience growing deciduous orchards and citrus fruits before establishing the winery. This agricultural background gives them a thorough understanding of the land and the seasons that govern it. As a result, the transition to winemaking was built on a solid foundation of practical farming knowledge.

Wines, Olive Oil, and Berries

Terranova Winery currently produces approximately 10,000 bottles of wine per year. The wines reflect the volcanic basalt terroir of the Golan Heights and the cool growing conditions at this elevated site. Moreover, the winery has expanded its agricultural offerings over the years. In 2012, the team planted approximately 50 dunams of olive trees featuring the Arabkina and Korneiki varieties, producing high-quality olive oil alongside the wine portfolio.

In addition, Terranova operates a berry patch featuring blueberries, raspberries, Afghan mulberries, and strawberries. Consequently, the property has evolved into a full multi-crop agricultural destination where visitors can experience the best of Golan farming. The nearby Ashi Knaf spring adds a natural and scenic dimension to the overall site experience.

Visiting Terranova Winery

A visit to Terranova Winery is an immersive experience combining wine, olive oil, fresh berries, and one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the Golan Heights. Guests can taste the range of wines, sample the olive oil, and enjoy the berry patch in season. Furthermore, the panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon from the hilltop makes every visit visually extraordinary.

Terranova Winery offers a genuinely complete agri-tourism experience. Therefore, it is an ideal destination for families, wine lovers, and nature enthusiasts who want to discover the full richness of what the Golan Heights has to offer.
