About Terranova Winery

Terranova Winery stands on a hilltop at the entrance to Moshav Knaf in the Golan Heights, with sweeping views over the Sea of Galilee, Safed and Mount Hermon. It was founded in 2006 by three partners who are also founding members of the moshav; the name captures the idea of a new beginning on new land, bringing together farming, nature and wine. The site sits on the ancient road between two historic synagogues, Dir Aziz to the east and Mizarat Knaf to the west. The founders came to wine from years of growing deciduous orchards and citrus, a grounding in the land and its seasons.

Wines, Olive Oil and Berries

Terranova makes around 10,000 bottles a year, shaped by the volcanic basalt soils and cool, high-altitude conditions of the Golan. Over the years it has grown into a full farm: about 50 dunams of Arbequina and Koroneiki olives planted in 2012 for olive oil, and a berry patch of blueberries, raspberries, Afghan mulberries and strawberries. The nearby Ashi Knaf spring adds to the setting.

Visiting the Winery

A visit takes in wine, olive oil and, in season, fresh berries, set against one of the finest panoramas in the Golan. It makes an easy, rounded destination for families and wine lovers alike.

Information last updated: July 26, 2026. Please confirm hours and details directly with the winery before visiting.
