About Jascala Winery

Jascala is a family boutique winery in the village of Kfar Jesh in the Upper Galilee, established in 2003 out of a genuine love of wine and a wish to create something meaningful from the land. Housed in an ancient stone building in the historic heart of the village, it is one of the most charming small wineries in northern Israel. It began with a single experiment, a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from locally grown grapes, and that first vintage, released in 2005, exceeded expectations, its richness and distinctive character quickly winning admirers and turning an act of curiosity into a serious winemaking enterprise.

The Wines

Jascala makes about 10,000 bottles a year. The grapes are hand-picked in the early morning, when the cool air preserves the fruit’s freshness, and all the wines are aged in wooden barrels, which adds complexity and depth to every label, so the wines carry both the freshness of Upper Galilee terroir and the richness of careful oak maturation. Every stage is handled meticulously, from the gentle reception of the grapes through pressing, fermentation and barrel ageing, and the ancient stone walls of the building help regulate temperature naturally, so the historic setting contributes directly to the quality of the wine.
