Business Description

About Natuf Winery

Natuf Winery was founded in 1997 by Meir Akel and Ze’ev Tsinmon in Kfar Truman, a small community near the Wadi Natof river valley in central Israel. The winery takes its name from the Natuf stream that winds through the surrounding landscape, a region with deep archaeological significance. Natuf Winery operates on the site of a converted stable and milking room, giving the facility a rustic character that reflects its agricultural roots. Consequently, the winery carries a sense of history and place in everything it produces. The commercial identity of the winery in the Israeli wine market is represented under the brand name Bentoff Wines.

Wines and Vineyards of Natuf Winery

Natuf Winery focuses primarily on red wines, crafting them with patience and a commitment to minimal intervention. The winemaking team ages wines in both American and French oak barrels, with maturation periods ranging from one to two months up to two full years depending on the wine. Furthermore, bottled wines receive an additional two years of aging before release, resulting in a minimum of three years between harvest and release. As a result, Natuf Winery ensures that every wine reaches its full potential before reaching the consumer. The winery practices a no-filtration policy, preserving the natural texture and character of the wines. Additionally, this patient approach to production ensures that each bottle from Natuf Winery reflects the full depth of the vintage.

Visiting Natuf Winery

Natuf Winery welcomes visitors who appreciate the craft of small-scale, artisanal winemaking. The converted stable setting in Kfar Truman provides a charming and authentic backdrop for a tasting experience. Guests can explore the range of red wines and learn about the extended aging process that defines the Natuf style. Moreover, the story of founders Meir Akel and Ze’ev Tsinmon gives the winery a personal identity that connects visitors to the people behind the wines. The proximity to the Wadi Natof valley adds natural beauty to any visit. Therefore, a trip to Natuf Winery is an opportunity to taste wines made with genuine dedication and an unhurried commitment to quality.
