Business Description

About Villa Wilhelma Winery

Villa Wilhelma Winery was established in 2001 by Gil and Motty Goldman, second-generation winegrowers from Bnei Atarot. The winery takes residence in a beautifully preserved Templar villa, built during the German Templar settlement era in the village then known as Wilhelma. High ceilings, ornate painted floors, and spacious rooms characterize this historic building. Consequently, the winery offers an atmosphere unlike any other in Israel.

The Wilhelma Templar settlement was remarkably well preserved over the decades. Today, the verdant fields and quiet lanes of Bnei Atarot still carry the character of that era. Furthermore, the villa itself serves as both a functioning winery and an enchanting venue for events and celebrations. Visitors often describe the experience as stepping into a different time and place.

Wines and Vineyards

Villa Wilhelma Winery specializes in aged wines crafted with exceptional patience. Some vintages spend five to nine years maturing in oak barrels before release. Moreover, the wines continue to develop beautifully for fifteen to twenty years after bottling. This commitment to long aging distinguishes Villa Wilhelma from most other Israeli wineries.

The flagship TIMELESS series exemplifies this philosophy entirely. These wines undergo extended oak maturation and emerge with deep complexity. Red grapes come from the Ben Zimara vineyard in the Galilee. Additionally, Chardonnay is sourced from the Avshalom vineyard at the base of Mount Tabor. White varietals come from the Bnei Atarot estate vineyard. Therefore, the portfolio draws on diverse Israeli terroirs to create wines of layered, evolving character.

Visiting Villa Wilhelma Winery

Wine tastings at Villa Wilhelma are accompanied by the stories behind each aged vintage. As a result, guests gain a deeper appreciation for the patience and craft invested in every bottle. In addition, the historic Templar setting makes each visit a genuinely memorable cultural experience.

Gil and Moti Goldman share a simple philosophy: great wine takes time. Consequently, they built a winery around patience rather than speed. For wine lovers who appreciate aged, complex Israeli wines, Villa Wilhelma stands as one of the most distinctive producers in the country. A visit here is an exploration of what happens when a winemaker truly lets time do its work.
