Business Description

About Villa Wilhelma Winery

Villa Wilhelma Winery was established in 2001 by Gil and Motty Goldman, second-generation winegrowers from Bnei Atarot. It occupies a beautifully preserved Templar villa from the German Templar settlement era, when the village was known as Wilhelma; high ceilings, ornate painted floors and spacious rooms give it an atmosphere unlike any other winery in Israel, and it doubles as a venue for events and celebrations.

The Wines

The winery specialises in aged wines made with unusual patience: some vintages spend five to nine years in oak before release and keep developing for fifteen to twenty years after bottling. The flagship TIMELESS series is the fullest expression of that approach. The reds come from the Ben Zimara vineyard in the Galilee, the Chardonnay from the Avshalom vineyard at the foot of Mount Tabor, and the whites from the estate vineyard at Bnei Atarot, drawing on several Israeli terroirs for layered, evolving wines.

Visiting the Winery

Tastings come with the stories behind each aged vintage, so guests leave with a real feel for the patience behind every bottle, all in a historic Templar setting. Gil and Motty’s philosophy is simple: great wine takes time, and they built the winery around it.
