Business Description

About Ella Valley Winery

Ella Valley Winery was established in 1998 in the Ella Valley, best known as the site of the biblical duel between David and Goliath, though the valley was prized for its wine long before that story. Modern viticulture returned here in the early 1990s, and the winery’s founding revived a tradition stretching back thousands of years. It is among the most technologically advanced wineries in Israel and works to a single, premium standard: there are no entry-level or commercial labels in the range, only estate wines made from the best fruit.

The Wines

Ella Valley makes around 300,000 bottles a year, a large output for a premium-only producer, all from its own vineyards. The valley’s limestone soils, altitude and Mediterranean climate give wines known for intensity, freshness and regional character. About a fifth of production is exported, chiefly to the United States, held to the same standard as the wines sold at home.

Visiting the Winery

The setting pairs a landscape rich in history with real natural beauty. Tours cover both the winery’s advanced production and the valley’s ancient winemaking heritage, and tastings run across the full premium portfolio, a rewarding stop for anyone who wants to understand what makes this valley special.

Information last updated: July 26, 2026. Please confirm hours and details directly with the winery before visiting.
