About Mony Winery

Mony Winery is a boutique kosher winery situated on the slopes of the Judean Mountains, overlooking the picturesque Emek Sorek valley. The winery was founded in 2001 by Shakib Ertol, an olive merchant who fell in love with the beauty and agricultural potential of the Sorek Valley region. Today, approximately 1,000 dunams of vineyards surround the winery, producing grapes of consistently high quality.

The winery is named in honor of Dr. Moni Ertol, a family member who inspired the project. Furthermore, the Ertol family originally comes from the Galilee, bringing a northern Israeli perspective to their Judean Hills winemaking. This combination of backgrounds adds a distinctive dimension to the culture and character of the winery.

Wines and Vineyards

Mony Winery produces a diverse range of wines, including red, white, rose, and premium dessert wines. The vineyards grow at the foot of Emek Sorek, where the Judean mountain slopes provide excellent drainage and sun exposure. Moreover, the winery cultivates a wide variety of grape types, giving winemaker Sasson Ben Aharon considerable flexibility in crafting the portfolio.

Sasson Ben Aharon joined the winery as head winemaker in 2014. His expertise and personal touch have elevated the quality of Mony wines significantly. In addition, some wines undergo aging in wooden barrels inside a natural limestone cave on the property. Consequently, these aged wines develop exceptional complexity and elegance over time.

Visiting Mony Winery

Mony Winery operates a welcoming visitor center overlooking Emek Sorek. The views from this elevated vantage point are among the most beautiful of any winery in the Judean Hills. Therefore, a visit here is as much a scenic experience as it is a wine tasting.

The winery team maintains strict kosher standards throughout production. All wines carry full kosher certification. As a result, Mony Winery serves a broad community of Israeli wine lovers while maintaining the highest standards of quality and tradition.
