About Nana Wine

Nana Wine is a pioneering boutique winery founded by Eran, known throughout the Israeli wine world by the nickname Nana. Eran began his career as a viticulturist, managing approximately 600 dunams of vineyards in the Jerusalem Hills and the Adulam region between 1998 and 2002. After developing expertise in established wine regions, Eran pursued a dream of cultivating vines in the Negev desert and relocated to the area in 2004. Consequently, Nana Wine became one of the early advocates for the potential of the Negev as a serious wine-producing region. The winery operates in one of the most challenging and inspiring environments in the country.

Wines and Vineyards of Nana Wine

Eran planted the first vines at Nana Wine in 2007, choosing a site in the Zin River valley near Mitzpe Ramon in the heart of the Negev. The vineyard now extends across approximately 450 dunams, making it one of the larger estate vineyards in the southern region. The Zin River area offers a unique terroir shaped by desert conditions, significant diurnal temperature variation, and ancient desert soils. Furthermore, the challenging environment forces the vines to work harder, resulting in grapes with concentrated flavors and distinctive character. As a result, the wines of Nana Wine express the singular identity of the Negev desert in every glass. Additionally, the winemaking philosophy at Nana reflects years of viticultural expertise accumulated across different Israeli wine regions.
