Business Description

In 2001, Yoram Cohen fulfilled his dream of establishing a family winery and named it Tania, after his beloved daughter. Drawing inspiration from the Talmud, where the name Tanya is referenced in the teachings of Rabbi Ishmael, Cohen embraced the profound wisdom and spiritual significance embedded in his winery’s name.

At Tania Winery, family is at the core of everything they do. Each wine series proudly bears the names of Cohen’s children: Elia, Hillel, Anush, and Hebrew. This personal touch reflects the deep bond and connection between the family members, as well as their shared commitment to crafting exceptional wines.

Nestled in the scenic settlement of Ofra, located in the Eretz Binyamin region north of Jerusalem, Tania Winery enjoys an elevated position of approximately 900 meters above sea level. This unique location lends itself to the cultivation of exceptional vineyards, benefiting from the optimal altitude and climate for grape production.

Ofra, named after the biblical city within the territory of the tribe of Benjamin, holds a rich historical significance. The surrounding area boasts ancient rock carvings dating back around 3000 years, serving as a testament to the longstanding tradition of winemaking in the central mountain region.

At Tania Winery, the winemaking process is guided by a deep respect for tradition and a commitment to quality. From vine to bottle, meticulous care is given to every aspect of production, ensuring that only the finest grapes find their way into each wine. The result is a collection of wines that exemplify the essence of the land, capturing the spirit of the ancient winemaking heritage while embracing modern craftsmanship.

As you savor a glass of Tania wine, you become part of a narrative that spans generations. Each sip carries the legacy of family, the reverence for tradition, and the pursuit of excellence. Tania Winery invites you to experience the harmonious blend of history, passion, and dedication in every bottle, as they continue to create wines that pay homage to the past while forging a path into the future.
