About Yiftah’el Winery

Yiftah’el Winery, operating today as the Ofir Farm estate, is a family winery located in Alon HaGalil in the Lower Galilee. Founded by Hadas and Zvika Ofir, the estate has roots stretching back to 1986 when the first grapevines were planted on the family land, making it one of the pioneering wine estates of the Lower Galilee. Over the decades, the Ofir family have developed their property into an authentic agritourism destination, combining viticulture, winemaking, and warm hospitality in the heart of the Galilean countryside.

Wines and Vineyards of Yiftah’el Winery

Alon HaGalil is located in the Lower Galilee at a moderate elevation, where the climate transitions from the Mediterranean coast towards the more continental conditions of the inland Galilee hills. The soils on the Ofir family’s estate are characteristic of the Lower Galilee — basalt-influenced, mineral-rich, and well-suited to producing wines with depth and a distinctive regional character. With over three decades of vine age, some of the estate’s oldest plantings now produce fruit of exceptional concentration and complexity, a hallmark of old-vine viticulture anywhere in the world.

The Yiftah’el Winery / Ofir Farm produces wines primarily from red varieties suited to the Lower Galilee, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, handled in a style that emphasises fruit expression and the natural character of the estate terroir. The long history of the family in this landscape gives their wines an authenticity that is rare — these are not wines built to formula, but expressions of a family’s connection to a specific piece of Galilee land. Production remains deliberately limited to preserve quality and the personal character of the estate.

Visiting Yiftah’el Winery

The Ofir Farm at Alon HaGalil welcomes visitors for wine tastings and farm experiences that go beyond the typical winery visit. As an agritourism destination, the estate offers guests the opportunity to connect with the land, the vines, and the family story in a setting of genuine rural beauty. The Lower Galilee location makes Yiftah’el easily accessible from Nazareth, Tiberias, and other Galilee destinations.

A visit to Yiftah’el Winery is an immersive experience in the history and landscape of the Lower Galilee. The Ofir family’s warmth, the estate’s decades-long commitment to the land, and the unique character of their wines combine to create a winery visit that stays with you long after the last glass. Contact the farm in advance to arrange your visit to this remarkable Galilean family estate.
