Business Description

Agate Winery is a boutique winery in the Shephelah (Judean foothills) near Be’er Ya’akov, founded in 2013 by the Barak family, who replaced an old pecan grove with a young vineyard. Cultivating around 4 dunams of vines — French Colombard, Merlot and Syrah — the winery produces about 4,000 bottles a year.

What sets Agate apart is its growing philosophy: it blends modern viticulture with permaculture and biodynamic practices, working closely with the natural ecosystem of the foothills. The result is small-batch, hand-crafted wine that expresses this distinctive terroir.
