Dror Winery is a boutique winery in Kfar Shamai, a village in the Upper Galilee hills between Safed (Tzfat) and the Meron range, known locally for producing some of the region’s finest wines. The winery enjoys sweeping views over the Sea of Galilee, Safed and the surrounding Galilee landscape, and is set amid a flourishing garden.

The winemaker is Zahava Dror, and the winery has been kosher since the 2010 vintage. Beyond still red and white wines, Dror produces an unusually wide range — including sparkling wine, cider and fruit wines — and has experimented with less common grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, the great red grape of Piedmont.

The Upper Galilee’s rocky limestone and basalt soils, cool mountain air and generous winter rainfall make it one of Israel’s premier wine-growing regions.
