Business Description

About Eretz Winery

Eretz Winery carries a name of profound personal meaning. It was the name the founder’s mother received from her grandfather on the eve of the family’s immigration from Libya to Israel, an act that embodied a centuries-long yearning for the land that had never faded. The winery therefore represents the fulfilment of a deep family connection to the Land of Israel, and its story begins in the heart of the Libyan Jewish community, in an enduring love for the land that shaped generations of the founding family.

The Wines

Eretz draws on a heritage of fermentation stretching back generations. The founder’s grandfather ran a small tavern in the Jewish market of Tripoli, where he crafted a distinctive drink from palm trees for his patrons, and that early tradition passed down through the family as a living heritage. The winemaking reflects the same connection to land and memory, while the grapes benefit from the specific terroir of their Israeli home, so the wines carry both personal meaning and the authentic character of the land, connecting past and present in each bottle.

Visiting the Winery

A visit to Eretz is one of the most personal wine experiences in Israel, its founding story rooted in the Libyan Jewish community and the journey of immigration, so every bottle carries a depth of meaning beyond the wine itself. Visitors can taste the wines and hear the story of the grandfather in Tripoli and the name given to the founder’s mother, an expression of the land the family yearned for across generations, connecting guests with wine, history and a story of belonging and return.
