About Hevron Heights Winery

Hevron Heights Winery stands at the forefront of Israeli wine from the Judean Hills, operating from its base in Kiryat Arba near the ancient city of Hebron. Established in 1998, it was founded with a profound connection to the biblical landscape of Judea, a region with one of the oldest recorded winemaking traditions in the world; the area around Hebron is referenced in ancient texts as a source of exceptional grapes, and the winery has dedicated itself to honouring that heritage while producing wines of modern international quality. As a fully kosher winery under strict rabbinical supervision, it makes wines accessible to observant consumers without any compromise in quality, and it operates at roughly 1,000 metres above sea level, among the highest vineyards in Israel, an altitude central to the character of every wine and to demonstrating the world-class potential of the Judean Hills.

The Wines

The vineyards are planted at elevations that create genuinely cool growing conditions, unusual for the region, with cold winters, moderate summers and cool nights through the ripening season letting grapes develop slowly and build complex flavours while keeping the natural acidity essential for balanced, age-worthy wines, and the stony, well-drained Judean Hills soils add mineral complexity. Hevron Heights focuses on internationally recognised varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Petit Verdot among the reds, with Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer for whites, while the premium Founders series showcases single-vineyard expressions aged in French oak. A wide range of accessible table wines at several price tiers makes quality Judean Hills wine available at every level, each bottle fresh, structured and expressive of its high-altitude origin.

Visiting the Winery

Hevron Heights offers a meaningful wine experience embedded in one of the most historically significant landscapes in the world, welcoming visitors to taste wines shaped by ancient terroir and modern expertise, with tours that introduce the history of viticulture in the Judean Hills alongside a guided tasting of the principal ranges. It is especially popular with visitors combining a tasting with wider exploration of the region and its biblical and historical sites in and around Hebron, so the winery occupies a unique place in Israeli wine tourism, where the story of wine, history and identity converge into an enriching and thought-provoking experience.
