About Kerem Barak Winery

Kerem Barak Winery is a family boutique winery located in Moshav Bekoa in the Mate Yehuda region, situated between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The Rosenberg family established the winery in 2011, following years of study at the Sorek winemaking school and Tel Hai College. From the outset, the project was built on a combination of knowledge, love for the land, and a deep connection to the people who would share in the wines.

The winery takes its name from Barak Shmuel Rosenberg, the eldest son of the family, who passed away at the age of 18. Barak was a gifted artist whose passion was drawing, creating comic stories and characters including superheroes and imaginative figures. As a tribute to his memory and creativity, his hand-drawn characters appear on the winery’s labels and logo. Furthermore, this personal story gives every bottle of Kerem Barak wine a profound emotional significance.

Wines and Vineyards

The Rosenberg family planted their estate vineyard on the auspicious night of Tu B’Av, the Jewish holiday of love, in a collective effort with family friends and neighbors. The vineyard grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay in the Mate Yehuda foothills. This area is often called the Israeli Tuscany due to its forested hills, boutique wineries, and Mediterranean character. As a result, the vineyards benefit from excellent sun exposure, limestone soils, and cool evening breezes.

Wine production at Kerem Barak Winery began in 2012. Moreover, the winery operates as part of a broader agricultural venture, Rosenberg Farms, which also includes a dairy farm and a visitor center. Consequently, guests can experience the full breadth of the family’s agricultural vision in a single visit.

Visiting Kerem Barak Winery

The Rosenberg family welcomes visitors to Moshav Bekoa for tastings that combine excellent wine with the touching story of Barak’s legacy. The visitor center and farm grounds make the experience rich and varied. In addition, the beauty of the Mate Yehuda landscape adds a truly memorable dimension to every visit.

Kerem Barak Winery is a place where love, loss, creativity, and craftsmanship converge in a single bottle. For wine lovers who value the human story behind the wine, it is one of Israel’s most moving and memorable destinations.
