Ramat Negev Winery was founded in 1997 by Nira and Alon Tzdok of Moshav Kadesh Barnea. The Tzdok family envisioned a winery producing exceptional wines from their own desert land. They planted the first 10 dunams of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Negev desert. Many wine experts at the time considered this an impossible venture. Consequently, Ramat Negev Winery became one of the true pioneers of desert viticulture in Israel. The courage of the Tzdok family paved the way for an entire recognized wine region. Furthermore, their vision has since been fully validated by the quality of the wines produced here.
