About Zafririm Winery

Zafririm is a small boutique winery in Moshav Zafririm, tucked between the Elah Valley and the Judean Mountains. It was founded in 2004, when the family converted an old chicken coop on their farm into a production and tasting space, a modest, characterful start to a passionate venture in a region with a long farming tradition. The moshav setting is intimate and unhurried, and with small plots of vines and olive trees around it, the winery sits within a working farm, so every bottle stays close to the land it comes from.

The Wines

Zafririm makes around 8,000 bottles a year, reflecting the terroir of the Judean Mountains and the Elah Valley. The range includes Zinfandel alongside whites and roses, all from locally grown fruit. Good raw material is the priority: the vineyards are watched closely through the season, and each step is handled carefully to keep the fresh flavours and aromas of small-scale, artisan wine.

Visiting the Winery

The winery welcomes visitors for tastings and tours of the farm and converted cellar, with the Elah Valley and Judean foothills as scenery. It is a genuine slice of small-scale Israeli winemaking, and a reminder that some of the best wine here comes from passionate family farms rather than large producers.
