Business Description

About Alona Winery

Alona Winery is located in the settlement of Givat Nili, on the slopes of Ramot Menashe overlooking the Nahal Taninim valley. The winery was established in 2001 by Ilana Rabau-Friedman and Micha Rabau, in partnership with Fani Vali Azoulai, a second-generation wine grape grower with deep roots in the region. Together, the families built a boutique winery that is entirely family-operated, from selecting grape varieties and tending the vineyards to harvesting, winemaking, and bottling each vintage.

The location is part of what is often described as the Israeli Tuscany region, a forested landscape of ancient oak trees, fruit orchards, and hillside vineyards. The Alona Park Nature Reserve borders the property, protecting the surrounding ecosystem and contributing to the biodiversity that benefits the vineyards. Furthermore, the natural beauty of this setting has made Alona Winery both a wine destination and a place of genuine tranquility for visitors seeking to escape the city.

Wines and Vineyards

Alona Winery produces approximately 9,000 bottles per year. The wines undergo aging in a combination of French, American, and 2,500-liter Austrian oak barrels. Both new and used barrels are used, allowing the winemaking team to precisely control the influence of wood on each wine. Moreover, the wines are bottled with minimal filtration, preserving the authentic flavors and natural character of the fruit. As a result, each bottle carries a genuine expression of the vineyard and the vintage.

The dedication behind Alona wines has earned significant recognition. In 2007, the winery was honored as the best small boutique winery in Israel. Consequently, this award reflects the consistent quality that the Rabau and Azoulai families have brought to every vintage they have produced.

Visiting Alona Winery

Alona Winery welcomes visitors to Givat Nili for wine tastings in the beautiful Ramot Menashe landscape. The combination of natural forest scenery, ancient oak trees, and fine boutique wine makes a visit here a memorable and restorative experience. In addition, the warm family hospitality of the team ensures that every guest feels personally welcomed and valued.

For wine lovers seeking award-winning boutique wine in a naturally stunning setting, Alona Winery is an exceptional destination. Therefore, it represents everything that is best about small-scale Israeli winemaking: personal, authentic, and deeply connected to the land.
