About Amphorae Winery

Amphorae Winery was founded in 2000 by Guy Rilov and winemaker Gil Schatzberg, who set out to make exceptional wines that capture the essence of their terroir. Production began in a humble shed on a farm, a reflection of the determination and passion behind the venture, and in 2008 the Dubov family joined forces with Guy Rilov, bringing new energy and commitment. The winery has since grown from those modest beginnings into a recognised boutique producer, relocating to an impressive stone building near the farm entrance that houses both the production facility and a captivating visitor centre.

The Wines

Amphorae’s wines reflect a deep commitment to expressing the character of the specific terroir the grapes come from, and the winemaking philosophy established by Gil Schatzberg and the founding team centres on minimal intervention and respect for the natural qualities of the fruit.
