Founded in 2000 by Guy Rilov and winemaker Gil Schatzberg, Amphora Winery embarked on a remarkable journey to create exceptional wines that capture the essence of their terroir. Initially, wine production took place in a humble shed on a covered farm. However, in recent years, the winery has undergone a transformative change, relocating to an impressive and spacious stone building near the farm’s entrance. This stunning facility now houses both the wine production area and a captivating visitor center.

In 2008, the Dubov family joined forces with Guy Rilov, acquiring Amphora Winery. Drawn to the breathtaking landscapes that surround the winery, the Dubov family found their passion for the land and wine perfectly intertwined. Since their involvement, a process of continuous renewal and improvement has been set in motion, elevating the winery to new heights. Quality vineyards have been carefully planted in unique regions across the country, while state-of-the-art knowledge and technologies have been seamlessly integrated into the winemaking processes. Above all, a professional and experienced team has been assembled, led by the accomplished winemaker Dr. Arkady Papikian.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of perfection and the aspiration to establish global quality standards, Amphora Winery enlisted the expertise of the esteemed oenological consultant, Mr. Michel Rolland. With ownership of ten wineries and consultancy roles for numerous others worldwide, Mr. Rolland is widely regarded as a pivotal figure in the global wine industry. His exceptional international perspective and renowned ability to enhance and refine quality wines have added a touch of magic to Amphora’s winemaking endeavors.

In 2016, winemaker Maayan Koshitsky joined the ranks of Amphora Winery, assuming the role previously held by Arkady Papikian. Koshitsky assembled a team of talented young winemakers, working in tandem to produce the winery’s exceptional range of wines. Their collective expertise and passion infuse every bottle with the distinctive character and finesse that define Amphora’s portfolio.

The year 2016 marked another significant milestone for Amphora Winery with the entry of Dr. Yuval Samuel as an active partner and the subsequent appointment as CEO. Dr. Samuel, renowned as the owner of a prestigious chain of veterinary clinics, has expanded his business ventures into real estate and business consulting. Now venturing into the wine industry, Dr. Samuel brings his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to excellence to further propel Amphora Winery’s success.
