About Gat Shomron Winery

Gat Shomron is a boutique family winery in Karnei Shomron, in the Shomron (Samaria) hills, established in 2002 by Anat and Lior Nachum. It started at just 2,000 bottles a year and now makes around 35,000, with a following in Israel and abroad. Karnei Shomron sits on elevated ground, and its limestone soils and Mediterranean climate give the wines a clear regional stamp.

The Wines

The winery draws fruit from three regions, Samaria, the Galilee and the Ella Valley, giving it a broad palette of terroir to work with. It focuses on single-vineyard and varietal wines, and the winemakers also make less usual styles, including ice wine, late-harvest red and wild-fermented wine. All the wines carry full kosher-for-Passover certification.

Visiting the Winery

Gat Shomron welcomes visitors to Samaria wine country, with views over the surrounding hills and valleys and the Nachum family’s warm hospitality. In two decades it has grown from a small family project into a respected name while keeping its artisanal, personal touch, an essential stop for boutique Israeli wine from the Shomron hills.
