About Michmoret Winery

Michmoret Winery is a boutique winery founded in 2012 by Daniel Payne in the coastal village of Michmoret. Its story begins not in Israel but in the steep vineyards of Switzerland, where Daniel’s grandfather cultivated vines and made highly regarded wines. That family heritage sparked Daniel’s own passion for the craft, which he eventually brought to Israel’s Mediterranean coast, so the winery brings together two distinct cultures: the precision and tradition of Swiss winemaking and the warmth, sunshine and terroir of the Israeli coastal plain, both of which Daniel has spent years learning to express.

The Wines

The winery makes white, rose and red wines in a range of carefully crafted styles, and since its founding it has grown steadily to produce several thousand bottles a year. It uses Israeli grapes chosen for their quality and their ability to reflect the Mediterranean character of the coastal region, and Daniel’s approach pairs the technical discipline of his Swiss heritage with respect for each Israeli harvest, so the wines show a balance between structure and freshness that reflects both traditions, each bottle made with the personal attention only a small boutique producer can offer.
