Business Description

About Sarig Winery

Sarig Winery sits in Moshav Merhavia in the Jezreel Valley, part of the Sarig Farm estate established in 1921. The farm has more than a century of varied agriculture behind it, and in the mid-1990s it became a pioneer of valley wine by planting the first wine vineyard in the Jezreel Valley, giving Sarig a particular place in the story of winemaking in northern Israel, a mix of long farming heritage and pioneering spirit.

The Wines

The vineyards date from the mid-1990s, bringing wine grapes to the valley for the first time, and in 1995 the farm entered a significant joint venture with Golan Heights Winery focused on acclimatising and producing vine propagation material. That work gave the Sarig team unusual knowledge of grape varieties and how they perform locally, which they draw on to make wines that reflect the moshav. The fertile soils and warm Mediterranean climate of the valley round out an estate approach that keeps quality in hand from vineyard to bottle.

Visiting the Winery

Sarig welcomes guests to Moshav Merhavia, where the historic farm, with roots in 1921, makes an unusual setting for a tasting. Visitors can walk the vineyards and hear about the farm’s pioneering role, with fine views over the valley, wines deeply rooted in the land and history of the Jezreel Valley.

Information last updated: July 26, 2026. Please confirm hours and details directly with the winery before visiting.
