About Tishbi Winery

Tishbi Winery traces its origins to 1882. In that year, Michael and Malka Hamiltsky left Lithuania. They arrived in Zichron Ya’akov, seeking a new beginning in the Land of Israel. Baron Rothschild chose Michael to plant vineyards in the area. Consequently, the Hamiltsky family built a deep bond with the land. They settled in Shefia, surrounded by vineyards, and devoted themselves to cultivation for generations.

Wines and Vineyards of Tishbi Winery

The vineyards of Tishbi Winery grow in the Carmel Mountain region of Israel. This wine region has a long and distinguished history in Israeli viticulture. Furthermore, the Mediterranean climate and coastal breezes create ideal conditions for the vines. The sea influence preserves natural acidity and adds freshness to the grapes. Tishbi Winery produces wines that honor the traditions established by the founding family. Additionally, modern winemaking technology has been carefully integrated alongside those traditions. As a result, the wines carry the weight of history and the vibrancy of the terroir. The family legacy that began in 1882 continues to guide every decision at Tishbi Winery.

Visiting Tishbi Winery

A visit to Tishbi Winery is an encounter with one of Israel’s oldest family wine estates. Guests can taste wines and discover the story of the Hamiltsky family. Moreover, the historic bond with Baron Rothschild gives Tishbi Winery special significance in Israeli wine history. In 1925, the family hosted the poet Haim Nachman Bialik. Bialik was moved by their hospitality and gave the family the name Tashbi. This name means residents of Shafia in the Land of Israel. It also became the foundation of the winery’s lasting identity. Therefore, a visit to Tishbi Winery is a wine experience and a journey through a defining chapter in history. The team looks forward to welcoming every guest to the estate in Zichron Ya’akov.
